10 Years of Saving Lives: Help Us Secure the Future

Together, we've transformed countless lives. Now, we urgently need your support to ensure the next 10 years are even brighter.

Once home to unwanted rabbits, these are just 3 of the 11 units now sitting empty since 2023 due to lack of funding. Without your support, the entire centre will fall silent by the end of 2025.

10 Years of Advocacy, Rescue, and Vital Support
Before Nibbles opened, rabbits and rodents in West Wales had little rescue support and no specialist help at all. Nibbles was founded to fill this crucial gap. Over the past 10 years, we’ve worked tirelessly to rescue and rehome these overlooked animals, while building a centre to meet their unique needs. As we look ahead, we want to do even more—advocating for better welfare and raising awareness for these forgotten companions.
But without support, the future of Nibbles is uncertain.
Rising costs and falling funding have put the future of Nibbles at risk. If we are forced to close, rabbits and rodents will lose access to the specialist care and secure shelter they desperately need. The loss of Nibbles would leave a vital gap in rescue support across the local area, with no other centre offering the same level of expertise and care.

Freddie came to Nibbles over three years ago with untreated pasteurella. Thanks to our care, he’s thriving—but he’s still waiting for his forever home. Your support makes this possible.
By signing up to make a monthly pledge, you’ll not only secure Nibbles’ future but also transform the lives of countless unwanted rabbits and rodents, giving them the care and second chances they deserve.
The Need is Greater Than Ever
2022 saw a huge drop in funding, which we have been unable to recover from. The impact was immediate and heartbreaking. With no other option, we were forced to scale back, reducing the very spaces that once provided safety and care to those who needed us most. By June 2023, our rodent cabin stood empty, in desperate need of repair. Three rabbit kennels, once bustling with life, were closed, and three old, crumbling enclosures were demolished—reducing our capacity from 23 to 17 rabbit units. Then, as costs continued to climb—especially spiralling vet bills—2024 brought yet another painful decision. More closures followed, leaving us with just 12 rabbit units.
Yet, while we close housing, the calls for help keep coming.

Once a safe haven for small animals, our rodent cabin now stands sealed shut, its doors screwed closed in a last attempt to prevent further damage after a storm nearly tore them off. Without urgent repairs, we’ll have no choice but to demolish it. In front of the cabin, an empty space remains where a rabbit unit once stood, lost to rot and beyond safe repair. We had hoped to rebuild in 2024, but with no funding to make it possible, these spaces remain empty—while animals in urgent need continue to be turned away.
This is the sad reality we’ve faced for the last 18 months, watching spaces that should be filled with life fall into disrepair. The strain of constant setbacks has taken a toll on our morale, but we continue to fight for a future where Nibbles can once again provide the care these animals desperately need.
Every day, we hear from owners who are struggling to find help, with nowhere else to turn. With so little support available, many owners feel they have no choice but to give their animals away through online adverts or abandon them altogether. But behind the scenes, we are facing an impossible reality. We are currently operating at a loss of over £2,000 per month, and at this rate, we simply cannot continue past 31st December 2025. With such an unsustainable deficit, we cannot even consider reopening closed housing or investing in the urgent repairs needed to make the rodent cabin safe again. In 2024 alone, we turned away over 150 rabbits and rodents in urgent need of help, and the calls keep coming. Without Nibbles, these animals will have nowhere to go.
Without Nibbles, their future is uncertain.
You Have the Power to Change This
It doesn’t have to end this way. Nibbles can be saved, but we can’t do it alone. With your support, we can rebuild what has been lost. The rabbit housing can reopen, the rodent cabin can be repaired, and once again, our centre can be filled with life, hope, and second chances.
By signing up to give just £2 a month, you become the reason Nibbles survives. You’re the one making it possible for abandoned rabbits and rodents to find safety, for empty spaces to be filled once more, and for us to continue fighting for those who have nowhere else to turn.
1,000 new £2 pledges will keep us open at our current capacity. 1,500 will allow us to reopen all our closed rabbit housing. And with 2,500 pledges, we can repair and reopen the rodent cabin.
We believe that these animals deserve a future. If you do too, this is your moment to make a difference. Join us today—because together, we can turn things around and build a future filled with hope.

Thank You for Believing in a Better Future
