Nibbles is looking for reliable, dedicated, passionate and motivated volunteers to help with all aspects of the behind the scenes work which keeps the rescue open and on hand to offer help to unwanted, neglected, and abandoned rabbits and rodents 365 days of the year. If you are passionate about rabbits and rodents, want to help ensure they have bright futures and are fully able to commit your time to achieving this, please get in touch.

Volunteer Positions Currently Available

Adoption Co-ordinator. Help get our animals into their forever homes by handling adoption enquiries, organising home checks and helping to advertise the animals we have looking for homes.

You would need to:

Be able to dedicate at between 1/2 hour to 1 hour per day to this role, sometimes more.
Be able to work as part of the team as well as on your own with various tasks
Be over the age of 18
Be confident with using social media sites such as Facebook, forums and other internet based platforms
Be confident with dealing with members of the public

This position will involve:

Keeping animal listings up to date on various forums
Helping to promote the animals looking for homes
Dealing directly with members of the public with regard to adoption enquiries
Assessing adoption applications
Arranging homechecks
Following up adoptions

Fundraising Co-ordinator. Probably the most vital role as without funds Nibbles would simply cease to exist. All of our funding goes directly to the animals in our care, from the day to day running costs of feed and bedding and to routine veterinary costs for neutering and vaccinating and non-routine treatment for sick animals.

You would need to:

Be able to dedicate at least 5-10 hours each week to the role, sometimes more when running events
Be able to work as part of the team as well as on your own with various tasks
Be over the age of 18
Be confident with using social media sites such as Facebook, forums and other internet based platforms
Be confident with using social media and sites such as PayPal (although training can be given if needed)
Previous experience would be beneficial but we are far more interested in an applicant’s passion and dedication to the role
An ability to think outside the box to come up with new and fun ways to help raise funds for the centre
Be able to travel to Nibbles HQ for meetings (Nibbles HQ is located 6 miles outside Cardigan)

This position will involve:

Contacting companies and celebrities for item donations and sponsorship for different fundraising events throughout the year
Running online auctions, competitions, raffles on a regular basis via the Nibbles Facebook Page
Helping to access new fundraising platforms and promote the current ones

Events Co-ordinator. Help take Nibbles out and about to local events, arrange for collections and information stands across Pembrokeshire, Carmarthenshire & Ceredigion.

You would need to:

Be able to dedicate full days over the weekends to attend events on behalf of Nibbles and dedicated the required time to organise and raange such events
Be able to work as part of the team as well as on your own with various tasks
Be confident with dealing with members of the public
Be able to store stall items such as a gazebo,table and other items in a secure location between events
Be able to travel to Nibbles HQ for meetings (Nibbles HQ is located 6 miles outside Cardigan)

This position will involve:

Attending local events on behalf of Nibbles
Organising and running collections at various locations

Volunteer at the Centre We are looking at accepting volunteers to help with the day to day care of the animals at the centre in Spring ’18 providing there is enough interest to make the cost of the required insurance worthwhile. If you would like to register your interest in volunteering with the care of the animals please click the apply button to be kept up to date with progress.

You would need to:

Be able to travel to Nibbles HQ which is located 6 miles outsdie Cardigan
Be able to volunteer on any (or all) of the following days: Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays, and Saturdays, between the hours of 10am-3pm
Be confident with handling rabbits and rodents

This position will involve:

Cleaning cages and hutches
Feeding the animals
Handling and socialising the animals
Grooming the rabbits in our care
