Surrendering Your Pet
Please be aware that Nibbles only has a finite number of placements available. We are unable to continually take in animals, and are ONLY able to cater for the numbers we are able to support both physically and financially. For this reason we are generally always running at capacity and forced to operate a waiting list for placements. Spaces at the rescue become available when animals are adopted from the centre and therefore we are unable to give any estimation as to when we will be able to take your pet in.
Once we have confirmed receipt of your surrender form, your animals will be placed on to our waiting list and we will contact you when a suitable space becomes available.
Please be aware that we do not offer a collection service and therefore you will need to provide your own transport to get your animals to the centre.
Once a space becomes available at the centre a member of the team will contact you via your chosen preferred contact method. If you rehome your animal in the meantime please contact us to let us know this is the case so your space can be offered to others also waiting.
When a placement is available your spot will only be held for 48 hours before being offered to the next person on the list, so it is down to you to ensure contact has been made to Nibbles to confirm your placement. Sadly we don’t have the time to continually chase people and we always have more animals needing our help.
DO NOT miss your scheduled appointment to hand in your animal/s as we cannot guarantee your placement will still be available if you do and your animals will have to be re-added to the bottom of the waiting list.
We don’t have a mandatory fee for people handing in animals but due to the costs involved with running the rescue and the care your pet will require until a new home can be found we urge you to consider making a small donation towards their care while they are with Nibbles. If you are surrendering an un-neutered, un-vaccinated rabbit this will cost the rescue between £95-£115 depending on weight and sex.
To be placed on to our waiting list you will need to fill out and submit an online form. A member of the team will be in touch to confirm receipt of your form. So please check your spam folders for our reply. If you haven’t had this reply, your form has not been received, and therefore, your animal has not been placed on our waiting list.
